How does the Weigh Right actually measure my bag?
Inside the handle sits a load cell sensor. You hook or strap the scale to your packed bag, lift it clear of the floor, and the sensor converts the downward force into a digital reading on the LCD. It shows the number in kg, g or lb, so you can match whatever unit your airline uses. That is how you get an accurate weight at home instead of guessing.
Is it easy to use if I have never weighed a bag before?
Yes. You attach the hook or strap to your bag's handle, lift it off the ground, and wait a moment for the reading to settle on the display. There is no setup, no app, and nothing to configure. Most people get a clear reading on their very first try, then repack at home if the number is too high.
How much weight can it handle?
The Weigh Right measures up to 50 kg, which covers checked bags, carry-on bags and heavy suitcases with room to spare. That is well above most airline allowances, so a full bag will read comfortably within range. It is not designed for items heavier than 50 kg, so keep it to luggage and travel gear rather than oversized freight.
When and where should I use it?
Use it at home when you are packing, before you leave for the airport, so you know your bag passes. It is also small enough to pack in your suitcase, so on the trip home you can weigh a loaded bag in your hotel room before heading to the return flight. It works anywhere you have space to lift the bag off the floor.
Will it really stop me paying overweight fees?
It gives you the exact weight before you leave home, so you can move items between bags or remove something while you can still do it calmly. That is the whole point: no surprises at the counter, no unzipping in front of the queue. You walk up to check-in already knowing your bag is under the limit.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it with a damp cloth if it needs cleaning and make sure it is fully dry before you store it. Do not immerse it in water. To prevent battery leakage, take the batteries out if you are not going to use it for longer than three months. Looked after this way, it stays reliable trip after trip.
